Our Instructors

Melissa Poole

Melissa, Certified Nurse Midwife, specializes in the fields of pregnancy, birth, postpartum, breastfeeding, newborn care, family planning, & wellness promotion. She has practiced in community settings, hospitals, freestanding birth centers, and internationally.

She has practiced yoga for 14 years and appreciates its lessons in connecting the mind, body, and spirit as well as in building community. She is passionate about educating people in their options and promoting shared decision making in healthcare.

Roxy Robbins

Roxy Robbins combines her powers as an experienced doula, childbirth & movement educator and bodyworker to provide birthing families comprehensive support. Her passion lies in reproductive health and believes it is a human right that families have access to the support and education they need to have a positive informed experience in pregnancy, birth and parenthood.

Together, she and Sue Ann co-founded Flow of Life Yoga to create a perinatal community focused on embodied childbirth education and support. 

Sue Ann Fisher

Sue Ann is passionate about functional movement, philosophy and body | heart | mind alignment. With a deep understanding of movement, she is able to guide students more fully into their own bodies. Sue Ann is deeply grateful for her time studying and practicing at the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga. She is the owner and lead instructor at West Asheville Yoga in North Carolina.  Sue Ann holds an 800 hour Vijnana Yoga Certificate, a 500 hour Yoga Alliance Certificate and a 85hr PYTT.

Together, she and Roxy co-founded Flow of Life Yoga to create a perinatal community focused on embodied childbirth education and support. 

Evan

Evan is a full-spectrum doula, actively support families in the Asheville area through loss, abortion, birth ad postpartum since 2013. She comes to this work with flexibility and care, knowing that each birth and birthing person is unique, and that even after attending hundreds of births, she learns something new every day.
Evan comes to this work with deep integrity. Living in the mountains of Western North Carolina for the last 14 years, Evan has a strong connection with the abundance this land has to offer, as well as the community at large. As an activist and herbalist, Evan strongly believes that everything and everyone is connected, and all of our actions impact one another and the earth. With the values of harm reduction, trauma informed care, gender inclusivity, and a dedication to anti-racism work, she aims to create a safer container for anyone who enters.
 Evan’s work embodies a gentle yet strong core, deep listening and intuition. It is her goal to listen to what is not being said, to be quiet enough to hear what needs to come up, and to make space for you to feel safe, seen and supported.
